Patricia “Patty” Taylor Lynds 85 of Littleton, ME passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on April 25TH. Patty was born April 15, 1933 in Hodgdon, ME. The youngest child of Leigh and Viola (Corey) Taylor. She married Wendell A. Lynds on June 26, 1951. While attending Hodgdon High School she excelled at basketball and graduated Salutatorian IN 1951. She graduated from NMTC with an accounting degree. She was a stay at home mother several years before starting with the Houlton Regional Development Commission. Later she worked with Wendell and her son Max in the farming, truck brokerage, and Lynds Truck Stop businesses. She ended her working career with 18 years as an accountant for Madigan Estates in Houlton. She was an active member of the Littleton Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir and doing Mission Moments. She was very active with Dollars for Scholars for several years. She cherished her time at Deering Lake, cooking, working in the gardens, mowing lawns with Wendell, she on her John Deere tractor and he on his. Patty’s grandchildren were always competing for her delicious homemade dill pickles and applesauce. Patty is survived by her husband of 67 years Wendell, son Max and wife Jane Lynds of Littleton, daughter Janet and husband Joseph Rosa of Portsmouth, RI, grandchildren Ritchie and wife Kendra Lynds, Adam Lynds and Lindsey Farrell, Benjamin and wife Sarah Lynds, Brian Rosa and wife Rovi Currier, Andrew and wife Stephanie Rosa, great grandchildren Konnor, Addyson, Jacob and Drake Lynds, Paisley, Simon, Barin, Scarlett, Celia, Autumn, and Leo Rosa, her brother Robert and wife Sarah Taylor of Presque Isle and several close cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves her beloved cat Sadie. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Rowena Dickinson and great grandson Taylor Wilson Lynds.
Calling hours will be at Dunn Funeral Home in Houlton Saturday, April 28 from 4-7 PM. Her funeral service will be Sunday, April 29 at 2 PM at the Littleton Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Littleton Baptist Church, Hospice of Aroostook or charity of choice in care of Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, ME 04730.
